Yes, I do watch Oprah. Yes, at nine ay-em. Anyhoo, this episode on alcoholism (in this case, with a mom) has this addiction expert who just mentioned:

If you have ever drank till you’ve blacked out, you are an alcoholic. Doesn’t matter if it was the first time, the fifth time, or the fiftieth time, if you’ve ever blacked out after alcohol, you have a drinking problem.

There are people I have come to know, people whom I’ve told myself I wouldn’t care anymore about. People whom I realised I do still care about, a little, because they came to mind when I heard this.

This is for those people. I know you read this, for some reason. This is for you.

Early on, you can’t tell. You would seem perfectly fine on the outside, but on the inside, you’re preoccupied with alcohol. You think “I want that drink”. You sure like that drink.
