temper

My temper got the best of me, today. It’s an ugly thing to admit, but arrogance and pride fuelled what could have been maybe an excessive reaction. Maybe excessive, but definitely uncharacteristic.

I just don’t take to being brushed off lightly.

Especially considering recent exchanges.

It was not the shadows and the demons and the taunting call of the Devil that drove insane the man in the Valley of Darkness. Talk of fate and karma and destiny is talk of those who do not take charge of their futures, he says, as he walks through the Valley. Thank Gods, he says – though he isn’t sure if there are Gods, or is a God – as the Valley comes to an end.

The insane man walks through the end of the Valley, grateful for the End of the Valley of Life, for what chased away sanity was not the shadows and the demons and the taunting call of the Devil, but that he had Looked into the Souls of his fellow man, with eyes unveiled by naiveté and goodwill, and Saw the soullessness it possessed.
